How To Store And Transport Ultradispersed Silica Sol

The recommended storage temperature is 5-40°C, and it is strictly forbidden to store it below 0°C, otherwise it will form a jelly-like substance and become ineffective. Avoid exposure to sunlight; the silica sol in the white plastic container should not be placed in a bright, central location for extended periods, as algae may proliferate, causing green patches. Containers storing silica sol should avoid prolonged exposure to prevent the precipitation of solid silica particles due to moisture evaporation, which will affect product quality.

The shelf life of silica sol is affected by its type and particle size. Alkaline silica sol is more stable than neutral and acidic silica sol and has a longer shelf life. Larger particle size silica sol has a longer shelf life than smaller particle size silica sol. When silica sol becomes ineffective, it usually exhibits a gradual increase in viscosity and gelation. If the viscosity of the silica sol does not increase significantly after the shelf life, it can still be considered for use.

Nano silica sol is liquid and differs in physical form from silica powder.
