Properties Of Silica Sol

Silica sol is a colloidal solution, odorless and non-toxic, with the molecular formula mSiO2nH2O.

Due to its extremely fine particle size (10-20 nm), it possesses a considerable specific surface area. The particles themselves are colorless and transparent, not affecting the original color of the object being covered.

It has low viscosity, allowing it to penetrate anywhere water can, resulting in excellent dispersibility and permeability when mixed with other substances.

When the water in the silica sol evaporates, the colloidal particles firmly adhere to the surface of the object, forming silicon-oxygen bonds between the particles, making it an excellent adhesive.
