Aluminum alloy polishing and cleaning agents are chemical substances used for the chemical polishing of aluminum and its alloys. Chemical polishing is a process of chemical etching of metals under specific conditions. Specifically, the metal surface undergoes a series of chemical reactions in a polishing solution composed of a properly proportioned corrosive agent, oxidant, and additives. This process reduces the microscopic roughness of the uneven oxide film on the metal's microscopic surface, resulting in a smooth and bright surface.
Besides acidic polishing solutions, there are also alkaline polishing solutions. Alkaline polishing solutions are strongly alkaline solutions, with sodium hydroxide as their main component. They operate at high temperatures, produce severe alkaline mist during polishing, and are highly corrosive to aluminum. Acidic polishing solutions are mainly divided into two categories: phosphoric acid-based and non-phosphoric acid-based.
Relevant literature mentions a good chemical polishing formula for aluminum and its alloys. This formula consists of citric acid, 6501, sulfonic acid, sodium dodecyl sulfate, emulsifier, thickener, brightener, and water. They studied and optimized the ratio of these substances and obtained a set of optimal data: citric acid 12.0~13.0 g/Kg, 6501 32.5~33.5 g/Kg, sodium dodecyl sulfate 4.5~5.5 g/Kg, and sulfonic acid 20.5~21.5 g/Kg. Under these conditions, polishing at 35℃ for 40 minutes can achieve a good polishing effect.
